When Alexander Skarsgard and Kate Bosworth split up last month, I think most of us believed the reports that Alex did the dumping, and that Bosworth was still trying to cling to him. Even before the split announcement, Alex was at Comic-Con, and he was reportedly enjoying the company of ladies (ladies who eat). Then, just days after the official split, Kate stepped out with a ?mystery man? at the Marmont. It seemed like she just wanted to be photographed with a dude, just so she could look ?over it? and possibly make Alex jealous, I guess. Then Kate went to a Coldplay concert with the same dude, now identified as director Michael Polish. All in all, Kate seems to want to look ?over it? and like she?s ?moved on?. I don?t know if I believe it, but I hope it?s true. What I don?t believe, however, is this story in the Enquirer. It sounds like it was written by? I don?t even know. Not Kate?s publicist? Like, Kate herself. This Kate?s ?LOOK AT ME!? move I think - basically saying that she screwed around on Skarsgard and she did the dumping and she?s already so over it and Alex is the one who can?t let go.
Alexander Skarsgard is still feeling the bite over his failed two-year-relationship with Kate Bosworth. Alexander, who planned on proposing to Kate Bosworth and even took her to Sweden to meet his family, is taking the breakup especially hard since Kate?s already gone public with the man she dumped him for, say sources.
Alex was ?blind-sided? over the Fourth of July weekend when Kate told him she wanted to ?see other people,? said a source. ?They had been living together and he really thought it was going to lead to marriage.?
But Alexander was dealt a double blow when he learned that Kate was already involved with Michael Polish, the director of her latest movie, Big Sur.
?She worked on ?Big Sur? during the spring, and Alexander reasoned that she was seeing Michael behind his back long before she called it quits on the relationship,? the source explained. ?Alexander is one of the nicest guys around, and it?s been driving him crazy to see Kate already flaunting her relationship with Michael in public.?
Meanwhile, Skarsgard is staying with a friend in LA and trying to regroup.
?Alexander is considered on Hollywood?s handsomest and most eligible bachelors and could have any pick of any number of beauties? but right now he?s licking his wounds and keeping to himself.?

Okay, so do I believe any of this? My opinion of Bosworth is so low, I could buy that screwed around on Alex. But the way Alex has acted after the breakup? it just seems like he?s the one who has moved on. He?s fine. He seems happier without the 80-pound albatross.
Oh, and it?s Alex?s birthday today! Happy b-day, you big hunk of Swedish meatball.

Let?s see, there?s repeat of the living together/marriage bs. The breaking up over the 4th of july weekend is interesting, since they hadn?t been seen in public since Coachella, and not much in the month before that. And apparently he was in San Diego over the 4th, so did she stalk him down there? Not a chance in h*ll this is true. First, he looks happy to be single. Second, he stopped going to his favorite restaurants because she was probably ?just happening to pop by? every time he went. Third, no boyfriend, new or old at that tiny premiere she had, if she already had a jump off she would have invited him. 4th, she was the one wearing True Blood makeup trying for his attention, not Alex wearing mint jewelery cufflinks, hoping for hers. And finally, we know he?s got his own place, the paps have taken pix of it. So aside from the fact that he?s sleeping in a hotel in NYC, anyone claiming he has to sleep on a friend?s couch is full of it. The only way he?s likely doing that is because they had a beery Hammarby soccer watching night and he crashed At his friend?s place rather than driving home.

Ok. So? this has been my ?working theory? for a while now. And I totally buy it. Here?s why:
A. He?s Swedish. I have several Swedish friends and they are reserved yet fiercely loyal. Getting to know a Swede is like trying to break into the FBI - but once you?re in - you?re there for life. I can totally see his loyalty being the glue to that relationship.
B. I?m pretty sure she thinks she?s above him in status. So why wouldn?t she hook up with someone on her next project? It?s the smug face? she feels entitled.

this story might have been semi-believable had the whole ?Alex was thinking of proposing? business not been added. @Glyrics: I think Alex was quite into her in the beginning. For the last year of something though, it seemed like to me that he had checked out mentally of the relationship. After that she seemed way more into him - or into being seen with him. The whole marriage/baby thing I really believe was pr from her side. I doubt he?s looking for that at the moment, where his carrer is really picking up.

She looked pretty desperate rushing to the Chateau Marmont to be photographed with her new man right after their split was announced. @31 They were probably together for about a year and a half, maybe a little less if any. The two year was an overestimate. But I remember reading some interview where his parents weren?t even in Sweden when she went - Stellan was filming something and his mom was elsewhere. The second time she was in Sweden he was filming most of the time and she blew up at him in a public concert.
I think this is BS and the Bos?s attempt to get attention considering she lost her attention card (realistic one since more people would rather see ASkars than her). He looks super happy to not have to be around her. He always looked super unhappy with her in his vicinity.
